About

Hi, I’m Paul!

Zion National Park, Utah, USA. February 2017.

Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, I am an American travel blogger and two time expat. While I do love my state, I grew up wanting to experience places beyond Utah. I’m on a mission (Utah pun) to build connections between Utahns and foreigners by promoting travel both within Utah and abroad.

Saint Petersburg, Russia. October 2014.

My story started in 2014, when I left everything I knew and moved to Moscow, Russia to teach English for 4 months. During my time in Moscow, living abroad went from yearned day dream to my everyday reality as I explored Russia and seven other countries. A year later, in 2015, I set off for Paris, France where I worked as an “au pair” (nanny) for a year. I came home to finish undergrad at the University of Utah, through which I studied abroad in Havana, Cuba. Currently, I’m living my best life as a flight attendant for a major U.S. airline.

Paris, France. July 2016

I’d describe myself as adventurous, clever, optimistic, passionate and I honestly do try my best to stay humble. Beyond Utah is the virtual chronicles of my travels from country #1 to country #193 (currently at #34, click here for my country count). For those who have yet to travel, your time will come. Not everyone’s situation is the same. Through my blog, I hope to inspire. If even just one person feels like they can overcome their challenges, whatever they may be, and achieve their dream to travel, then I’ve succeeded.  I was inspired in that way, and now I’m living my own version of impossible.

Cologne, Germany. April 2016

I want my blog to remind others that the beauty of being human is that there’s never an end to learning, the giving of love, or living life to its fullest potential.

Tag along on any of my platforms and feel free to say, “Hello!” I’m not your typical traveler, and in sharing my tips and tricks, I hope to inspire a little more wanderlust in each of you.
