Top 10 Moments of 2016

While the title lists them as “moments,” these are more so experiences and in most cases, short trips to various locations. Since I moved back to the USA in August, these all fall before then. August to December had its own special moments (buying my first car, seeing the Chainsmokers live in concert etc), but I wanted this post to focus more on my travel moments.

#1 Mont Saint Michel, France

I did a full weekend traveling to Honfleur, Deauville, Saint Malo and the legendary Mont Saint Michel. I went with a student travel group called “To Be Erasmus in Paris.” I highly recommend it as you can make friends that are also studying abroad in Paris. 🙂

#2 Berlin, Germany

Guided by my good friend Jana, I got to explore the German capital and eat Berliner pastries to my heart’s content. Berlin has a vibe and an energy all of its own!

#3 Lyon, France

One of my solo trips, Lyon proved to be just as charming as I envisioned.

#4 Easter Weekend in Strasbourg, France

Easter weekend 2016 was spent exploring the gem of Strasbourg.

#5 Swimming in the Atlantic Ocean, France

I lucked out and got to go to grandma’s house with the kids I nannied in Paris. She lives on the west coast of France where we spent a week hiking, sun bathing and of course, swimming in the Atlantic! The beach we frequented was spotted with abandoned bunkers.

#6 First Concert: Troye Sivan

Troye Sivan is an Australian YouTuber and singer. I really admire him and I love his music. I couldn’t have asked for a better first concert!

#7 Château de Chenonceau, France

The Loire River valley is internationally known for beautiful castles and instagram perfect landscapes. This was another trip with “To Be Erasmus In Paris.”

#8 London, England

As a pre-birthday gift to myself, I took off to explore the magic and chaos that is London. I met some wonderful people and had a great time. London, I’ll be back!

#9 Spending my 21st Birthday in Paris, France

I have been blessed with THE BEST people in my life. I went out with my friends, and danced the night away. It will probably forever be my favorite birthday.

#10 Tour of the South of France

As one last hurrah, I spent a week sampling the cities of Nice, Monaco, Cannes, Marseille, Toulouse, Carcassonne and Montpellier. I then returned to Paris for one final week before heading home to the USA.

Here’s to another year of crazy adventures, amazing friends, and unforgettable memories.
